A video and a yowl from Skylar

Sorry it's so dark!  Mom's giving me chin scritches and telling me how much everyone loves me.

Meezer Colors Day 2010

Hello, we are Skylar (on the left) and Lydia (on the right), littermates and tuxedo kitties.  Skylar is 10 years old, and Lydia lived to be almost 9.  Even though we are black and white, we are actually half-Siamese!  Our mama cat was a tuxedo cat like us, and our daddy cat was a handsome Siamese dude.  We inherited his fine triangular face, petite feet, and rounded-end tail, as well as his voice.  Skylar is and Lydia was a snuggle kitty, and we follow (or followed) our humans around the house constantly.  Lydia was lady of the house, and when she left for the Bridge she passed that duty on to Rori, with one exception:  Skylar gets the utmost respect and honor as man of the house and oldest kitty.

Goodbye & Hello

Trailer Kitties write:

Our trailer's gone! The people in the green house left, took all their stuff, and took the trailer! There's just a bare patch of brown grass where it was. We can still go into the basement to hide and be dry, but it's not as convenient as the trailer was.

The lady and the man said they'd miss us all, but they were moving to a bigger house in a different place. We'll really miss them, and our daily two bowls of food.

Love, forever,

Grey Kitty, Tux, Dot, Outdoor Fluffy Buddy, the siamese from the next street over, Spongebob (neighbor's pet cat/welcoming committee), and all the rest.

Shadow writes:

The people in the green house haven't been around in a while. They don't come home anymore. Spongebob's dad, George, said they left a note with him that they really wanted to have me come live with them, but they would have to trap me to do that. They asked him to help them trap me. He hasn't called them back about it.

The lady who types my diary for me is the lady from the green house. I'll let her tell what's going to happen next.

Karen here:
We're going to let Shadow stay with Sponge & George, because she's happy there and she and Sponge are best buds. George will feed her and take care of her the best he can, and hopefully she'll learn to trust him more. Scott's going to go over and talk with him one of these next weeks and explain what techniques we were using to get her to trust us more, and so hopefully those will work for him as well.

It breaks my heart to give her up, just as it breaks my heart to give up the rest of the Trailer Kitties, but it's best for them to stay where they are. We'll never forget you!!!

Love,

Mommy/the lady who lived in the green house.

Spooky writes:

I'm at my new forever home! No, I didn't go somewhere else. I got to stay right here with my foster family, who are now my REAL family! Mommy and Daddy had a serious talk tonight, and they told me that my new last name is the same as theirs now. Yay!

Happy snuggles,

Spooky T.

Feral Friday by the Trailer Kitties

Food bowl rollcall:

Shadow, Spongebob, Orange-head kitty, Grey Kitty, Siamese from the next street over.

Shadow absolutely LOVES to be petted now! She asks to be petted every time she sees the lady, and she purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrsssss!!!!!!!!! Grey Kitty also likes being petted, but isn't as sure of it as Shadow.

The lady across the street in the house where Dot & Tux were born is taking care of Precious.

You may not hear from us ferals after a few more weeks, and we'll be sad. We're staying in the neighborhood, and are going to be ok. The people in the green house are moving, but we'll let them tell more about that. The lady across the street is going to take care of us and feed us.

Shadow may get to move with the green house people, but we're not sure yet. They need to try to find the other people who are feeding her and ask them first if they consider her to be their pet.

Feral Friday by the Trailer Kitties

Food bowl rollcall:

Shadow, Spongebob, Siamese from the next street over, Precious

The porchlight has been out this week, so the humans can't see who comes when it's dark. Someone knocked over the bags of pop bottles on the porch, obviously climbing up to see in the window into the house. We're not telling who, but we're pointing paws at the more curious pet cats in the neighborhood!

Precious is pregnant! She looks like she has a couple more weeks to go. The humans hope that they can catch the kittens and possibly her as well once she lets them come to the bowl.

Feral Friday by the Trailer Kitties

Food bowl rollcall:

Shadow, Spongebob, big-head Tom kitty, Precious, Siamese cat from over the fence, Marble, raccoons.

Newsflash: Mama raccoon had three kits around the time Little Bit had her kittens, and she brought them last week! Mama raccoon was very watchful as her kits played around the porch, but it was broad daylight and they were all enjoying the sun. :) The baby raccoons are now about 13 or 14 weeks old, and probably about the size of a large cat.

Feral Friday by the Trailer Kitties

Food bowl rollcall:

Shadow, Spongebob, Marble, Precious, a Siamese cat with a black collar who came from the back fence, possum, Chubby.

The lawn got mowed yesterday, and Shadow wanted to watch the whole process. She meowed at the back door to let the people know that something was going on, then went out to the front to watch from an already-mowed spot.

I want my food nnnnnNNNNOOOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!

Anyone who's ever heard a Siamese yowl knows what it sounds like around our house today. It's definitely a Mancat Monday!

Skylar writes:

I'm feeling so much better now that Starla's around. I just was lonely and depressed, and then she came to be my companion. I love my new friend! I let her snuggle with me and be right by me when I'm sitting with Dad. I go check on her and touch noses with her sometimes. I watch her and purr.

I've perked up quite a bit. My whole attitude's back to normal! I'm eating fine, drinking water occasionally (still working on that one), and am starting to assert myself again.

Yesterday, I woke Mom up with a Siamese yowl, demanding part of Dad's hotdog that he bought on the way home from work. I got some of it (of course) and chomped it right down, then got another piece. Starla got a piece as well, and the others got some bread (because they don't eat the hotdog part).

Today, Mom had bologna, and I demanded my fair share. She says it wasn't really bologna, just something that is made from tofu that seems like meat, but it tasted real! Smelled real, too, that's why I demanded it!
