Yesterday, Mommy and Daddy were watching TV from the couch, but then Daddy fell asleep in the chair. I don't like the TV, because I don't want those people and things coming out of the box and into the room. Everyone tells me that they stay in the box, but I still don't quite believe it. Anyway, Mommy was still on the couch. Freya climbed up to sit with her and get some pets. That looked like it was nice, so I went over to see if I could get some pets, too.
I walked by the couch. Mommy petted me a couple times, then made a clicky sound and called me up, patting the couch. I wasn't sure, so I put my front paws on the couch. Was I really allowed up there, or was it someplace for the inside-only kitties to be but not for me? No, she really was calling me up there! I hopped up on the couch, then walked over to Mommy. I got pets! She really did want me to be up there! I walked all the way over Mommy's side, then headbutted her chin while she petted me. Thank you, Mommy, for allowing me to do all the things the inside kitties do! I hopped back down, but then hopped back up and did the whole thing again, just to be sure. I got more pets, so I tried it again. Yep, it worked a third time, too!
After that, I decided I'd had enough of figuring out snuggles and the couch. I went off to play with a roller, which is a tube from the inside of a doggy poop bag roll. The humans here use those bags to bring the box stuff out to the garbage. Very strange, but I'm glad they come with the rollers inside the bag rolls, so I can play with those! I went hopping sideways around the living room after my roller, while Mommy giggled and Freya looked on with pride. Freya's becoming my inside mama cat, at least for a while until I get my forever home.

Happy Belated Birthdays to Tigress & Miss Marble!
Tigress says:
Hi! I've been coming inside regularly to meow at the mommy and daddy and socialize with the inside kitties. Carbon and I have especially been bonding, although I don't always let him sniff me as much as he'd like. I always ask him to lick my head, though. I don't stay inside long, just long enough to reacquaint myself with everything and everyone, and then I go back out. Mommy's been shutting the door more when I come in, so now I know that it will open when I ask it to. I reach up to the handle to let her know I want it to open. I even let the little human boy pet me last week!
The humans say my sister, brother, and I are now two years old. Wow! That's as old as our mom was when she had us! We turned two on Mother's Day, the 12th, but the humans were on vacation then so they couldn't help us write our blog post. Mommy wished me a happy Mother's Day, even though my babies weren't born before I got spayed last year. She doesn't know if I know I was a mom, but that doesn't matter to her if I know it or not.
Miss Marble says:
We're two years old? Wow, that's old! On our birthday, I came inside as usual at night. Mommy has had a cold, so she's been sleeping in a big chair in the living room. I am used to snuggling with her on the bed, so I didn't recognize that she was sleeping in the chair until Sunday. She called me over to her, but I wasn't sure if I was allowed to sit with her. I reached up and she told me to jump up to her. It took me a few minutes, but I did, then settled in a circle in her lap, purring happily and cleaning her hand as she petted me. I fell asleep in her lap and she fell asleep also. At one point, Carbon hopped up to snuggle with us! I was washing, so I decided to be nice and wash his tail for him. Boy, that was not what he wanted at all! I got slapped in the face, but he didn't have his claws out. He got told off by Mommy and wasn't allowed to snuggle with us anymore. I didn't know why Uncle Carbon didn't want me to wash him, but I wasn't too fazed by it because I got to stay on Mommy's lap and snuggle some more.
I fell asleep again with Mommy petting me, but had a very bad dream or was sleeping extra-hard, or something, because I did a bad thing. I scratched Mommy's hand when she tried to pet me after resting! I reacted instinctively and reached out with claws to bat it away, leaving a scratch. I immediately mewed like a baby kitten to tell her I was sorry, and she forgave me right away. She knew it was just an instinctive reaction and not something I would have done if I'd been all the way awake. I hopped down after that and went to Mama Freya for some reassurance (aka grooming). I'm lucky to have an inside-mama-cat, even though she's not my real mama-cat!

I love music! Music means snuggles!
Spooky writes:
Guess what?! Music playing on the computer means that Mommy has a snuggle lap for me! Tonight I was flopped on the floor of the dining room after eating, when all of a sudden I heard a song coming from the computer in the kitty tree room. I knew Mommy was in there, so I went running at top speed, came around the corner, skidded to a halt in front of the computer chair, and jumped up in her lap! Snuggles, loves, and singing, all equal a happy ME!!!!!! And a happy MOMMY!!!!!!
Oh, and a jealous Carbon kitty who spat at me as I raced by and then he went and hid under the bed, MOL. I was too focused on getting my snuggles that I didn't chase him this time.

Happy Father's Day!
Comments by ZingerBug.com

Happy Father's Day to everyone! We love our Daddy soooo much! And, no, he doesn't sleep all the time, but he hates getting his picture taken so Mommy has to sneak pics when he's sleeping. ;) That's Lydia (now an angel) and Carbon napping with him.

He who walks in dreams
Skylar writes:
Both Mom and Dad always say that cuddling with me makes them feel better. Did you know that many people think cats are telepathic? We believe it.
I walked in Mom's dreams while she was sleeping yesterday. She was having very bad nightmares, a sequential nightmare, then all of a sudden it started getting better. She eventually woke up, and I was snuggled right at her face, staring at her. Most of the time I curl up by her feet, but I was right there next to her, telling her it was ok. She petted me and told me thank you, then was able to sleep pleasantly.
My sister Lydia used to do the same thing. Mom would often wake up with Lydia staring at her, and she'd notice her in the actual dream too, making things better.
Anyone else dreamwalk with their purrents?

Daddy, I want to SNUGGLE!
Skylar writes:
Yesterday, I really, REALLY wanted to snuggle with Dad! I hopped up on the couch, got right in his face, and screamed at him to tell him I was there. I then hopped onto his side, hopped down, then back up, making sure he knew I was really there with him. Then I lay down on his side just like my sis Lydia used to and took a nap with him.
Mom and Dad are trying to decide if my increased snuggling is a sign that I'm feeling worse. I'm starting to act the same way my sis did before we knew she was dying. They know I probably won't last out the year, but I'm still able to get around the house and do my normal routine (eating, drinking, litter box, up on the bed and on the couch). I have fluids almost every day now, and love getting them still. So, all in all, I'm doing ok for my 9 years!

PhotoHunt: Warm
This picture was taken a year ago last winter. Tabby is stretched out along my legs, and Rori is snuggled up with Lydia. I (Karen) am the bump under the blanket with my hair on the pillow.
