Sad Feral Friday Yesterday

Yesterday was a sad Feral Friday.  Our outside friend, grey striped kitty, got hit by a car and ended up on his side in our driveway yesterday afternoon.  He was friendly, probably someone's pet who was an outside-only cat, or someone's former pet turned out on his own.  He never let us pet him, or come very close, but he once jumped on our grandpa's car and looked in at him when he came to visit!  So he had to have some positive experience with humans at some point in his life.  He was probably somewhere between 2 and 5 years old.  He visited us at least every other day, eating from the food on our back deck.

Rest in peace, grey striped kitty!  We'll miss you!

Mommy saw his body in the driveway when Grandpa drove her home after work last night.  Daddy buried him with Skylar & Spooky, while Grandpa held the flashlight.  We watched with Mommy from inside the house, through the back window.

I'm sure Pretty Bit was waiting for your kitty to show him around. Sounds like they had a lot in common here on earth so I'm sure they'll be buddies at the bridge.

We're so sorry for him. At least he'll be in good company at the Bridge, poor sweetie. And he had humans who cared enough to feed and bury him, that counts for something.

What a sad story, but it says a lot about you all who cared enough to give him a final resting place.

He's at the Bridge now, without a care in the world!

That is so sad. Poor kitty. At least he had a proper burial. Thanks for doing that. Take care and have a fun week end.

Thank you for caring about him and for burying him. feral cats have very short lives - usually only about 5 years unless they are cared for. it is a rough world out there. Sneding purrs to youa ll.

So sad that the only time this kitty got to be touched kindly by a human was when he was being buried. A tragedy.

That's such a sad story. We're sorry grey striped kitty didn't seem to have much love in his life. We're sure Sniffie will watch over him at the Bridge.
