Look who stopped by!

Look who stopped by! It's our friend Baby Possum! His momma brought him last year quite regularly, but we hadn't seen either of them for about 8 months. He's grown so much. When we last saw him, he was the size of an 8-week-old kitten. Now, he's about the size of a year-old one! His momma taught him to not bother the cats. He's a very nice possum baby.

He ate for a while,

then sat down and washed his face, just like we cats do!

He's scaredy of humans, so he ran away when Mommy went to put more food out for him.

Tabby & Rori's Tabby Tuesday

We don't want you to think that it's just Carbon who enjoys those Avon boxes! We all love them, and the lids as well. Here's some pictures to prove it. :)

Carbon's Mancat Monday

Mommy's an Independent Avon Sales Rep. We love, love, LOVE when she gets her orders, because that means we get BOXES!!! Her order came yesterday, but she didn't organize it until Daddy left for work (more room to work on it). So, of course, I snoopervised. When she was all done organizing and had sorted into the two boxes (customer orders and her brochures), she put the lids on them.

I immediately jumped on the first box and "loafed" (pulled in my feet and became a rectangle shape). She petted me, then picked me up!

What? You don't want me there, Mommy? But it's MY box now; you're done with it!

She stacked the other box on top, then came and picked me up again. By this time, I was very confused and didn't really want to be picked up. She held me close and said that she had a surprise for me. I looked, and there were the two boxes being a BIG box for me to be "king of the mountain" on! I gave her a nose kiss, and she set me down on the top. I immediately snuggled down into a "loaf" again, happy as can be. :)

Foodie Friday: We want Mommy's rice dish!

This week's Foodie Friday post is a dialogue of what goes on in this house when I cook chicken soup and rice. I use two regular-sized cans of chicken noodle soup (or any kind of chicken soup) and one box of rice pilaf or other small pre-packaged rice mix. I heat the soup, then put the rice in, add any flavorings, and cook according to the rice directions.

So, without further ado, I give to you the dialogue. All "voices" are those of the cats, except mine (which is "Mommy").

Mommy takes two cans and a box out of the cupboard. Skylar wakes up from his nap and comes running full-speed to the kitchen.

Skylar: sitting on the floor looking up at Mommy with hope in his eyes Mrrrrowwwww!!!!!

Mommy: No, it's not for you, Skylar. opens the cans

Rori and Tabby come walking in, and Tabby jumps up on the dishwasher.

Mommy: Down, Tabby!

Tabby sniffs the can lightly, then jumps down.

Mommy: Good girl for listening. pours the soup into the pot.

Skylar, Rori, and Tabby crowd around Mommy's feet while she stirs. They are joined by Carbon, while Starla watches from her sewing basket in the living room.

Mommy: NO, not for you. This is my food.

Skylar weaves around Mommy's ankles as she pours the rice into the boiling soup.

Skylar: Mrrrrrooowwww!!!!

Tabby: Mow, mow, mow, mow moooooowwwwww????

Mommy: putting lid on the rice soup. Nope, this is mine.

Mommy goes away to do other things while the food cooks. The cats also disperse, with occasional glances at the stove.

The microwave dings, announcing that the cooking time is up. Mommy comes into the kitchen, followed by all the cats. Skylar and Tabby start up their pleading again, and the others give her sad kitty eyes.

Mommy: dishing up a plateful of steaming rice. No, my food.

Skylar, Rori, and Tabby all follow her to the couch, where she sits down. Skylar jumps up on the couch, and is immediately put back on the floor. He tries again, only to be told NO.

Mommy: eating. If you're good, I'll give you some after I'm done.

All the cats have hopeful eyes.

Mommy: finishes eating, takes another plate out of the cupboard and spoons a small amount of the rice onto it. puts it down on the floor. Here you go, you guys.

Munching sounds are heard from the cats who swarm around the food bowl, trying to get in the best position to eat.

Fundraising Update

Tabby writes:

Phooey! There have been no new donations for Team Tabby this week! Even if you can't donate a lot, every penny goes to a good cause: The Cat Adoption Team. They provide medical care to strays and abandoned cats, ferals too! They also find foster homes for the adoptable ones, outside homes for the ones too wild to be pets, and then forever homes for those who are ready for a human family.

If you can donate $11, that is all it takes for them to test one cat for FELV/FIV.
If you can donate $22, that pays for a "baby bag" for a kitten to take to its foster home.

To donate, click the button on my sidebar under "Care-A-Thon to support Cat Adoption Team".

Thank you! Go Team Tabby!

Feral Friday by the Trailer Kitties

Food Bowl Rollcall:

Little Bit, Boo-Boo Kitty, Shadow, Spongebob, new white kitten, Orange-head Kitty, Black Tom Kitty, Outdoor Fluffy Buddy

On Monday, Outdoor Fluffy Buddy hissed at the lady when she put food out, but didn't run this time. We see Starla inside, watching us through the window. She looks like she's glad she's not out here with the boys after her anymore. Outdoor Fluffy Buddy got braver as the week went on, and let the lady within a few steps of him.

Little Bit is still in heat, unfortunately. There is nothing the people in the green house can do about it, because she belongs to the neighbors two doors down. One night, the man in that neighbor's house (who previously "owned" both Smokey and Starla) was fighting with the others and repeatedly dented a car with a pipe. Now the lady in the green house is scared to talk with him or his wife anymore. So unless they move and leave the cats, there's nothing that can be done about Little Bit or Boo-Boo Kitty except to love them, pet them, and let them come inside the green house when they want to. At least that much can be done, and they're obviously happy kitties.

They have strings in here!

Starla writes:

They have strings in this house! Not just strings that are attached to things, but real strings that I can bat around and play with! My new mommy just got one for me and dangled it, bouncing it a little, and I ATTACKED! I gave it the old one-two with my paw, then bit it and swatted it some more!

After I was kind of tired from all that exertion, because it's been a while since I've played like that, I was going to settle down for a bit. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw something else wiggling! I just HAD to go pounce on it! I ran across the top of the futon, jumped down into a crouch, and swatted. It was furry! I swatted some more, then used both front paws to get it to bite, when Skylar moved a tiny bit. I realized it was HIS TAIL! I put it down and watched it for a bit. Yes, it was attached to him. But it still wiggled so invitingly! Mommy was egging me on, so I swatted again, and Skylar wiggled it higher. He WANTED me to play with it! I gladly obliged!

After playing a bit more, I settled down on the couch to rest, a little way from Skylar. Mommy petted us both and told us how happy she was that we are both playing.

What if Jesus came back as a cat?

Human populations are like cat populations. Who are the strays? The ferals? What would Jesus want us to do if He came back as a cat? How does that relate to how we treat cats? How does that relate to how we treat other humans?

After watching SpongeBob and Outdoor Fluffy Buddy declare a truce to both eat from the food bowl, and Little Bit recently bringing a friend to eat, I wrote an article about these issues. Feel free to read it and comment. You can find it here.

Another Smokey update

From Smokey:

I'm feeling a lot more comfortable in my new home now. I'm eating, drinking, and using the box normally, without my new purrents standing guard.

I've also decided to hoard all my new toys into the bedroom. Everything I find from around the house, I collect into that room.

I haven't made up my mind yet on the little thing that makes funny noises at me and waves around. I've sniffed out his room, and sniffed him as well, but then he scares me off. I don't know if he's human or what he is. He doesn't act like the big humans, but they take care of him, so he must be a little one.

A new voice for Mancat Monday

Little Bit writes about her new friend, a mancat-in-training:

Last evening, I brought a new friend by the green house, so he would know where to get yummy good food. He's about my age, and still looks like a kitten too. He's afraid of the humans in the green house, and put back his ears and crouched low when he saw them, but didn't run away far. Just ran a little ways then watched. He looks like a snowshoe kitten, or a ragdoll. The people say that he looks a lot like Rori's brother Knut looked at that age. He's white, fluffy, and has grey in a triangle on his face down to his nose and tapering up to his ears. He's very handsome.

The people in the green house put some food out, and I showed him it was alright by eating some of it, then I went inside to eat and he started eating from the porch when the door closed. He didn't stay long, only took a couple bites, but at least he knows now that they're feeding us here.

Learning that laps are ok

Starla writes:

My new daddy just picked me up and put me on his lap for pets. I wanted to get off, but he gently held me there and petted me, talking to me the whole time. I settled down to a crouch and accepted pets, but gingerly, getting ready to run at any minute. I really didn't know what he was trying to do, because I've never sat on a lap for petting before. It was all very confusing.

Smokey's eating cat food

Just a quick update: Smokey started eating her cat food late last night. She has to have her new mom or dad with her in the kitchen or she won't eat it. She'll also run back and forth between her new parents, trying to decide which she wants to be with! I'm getting almost daily calls from her new mom (my best friend), with questions because Smokey is her first adopted kitten over the age of a few weeks old (at age of adoption). Smokey's new dad has more experience with cats, but hasn't had a cat for a few years. So this is all very exciting to them as well as to Smokey! :)

Smokey's settling in well

Smokey via telephone from my new mommy to my foster mommy:

I hid under the bed most of the time, until it was sleep time. Then, I wanted to explore and PLAY and SNUGGLE!!!! I walked back and forth over the bed repeatedly, then climbed under the covers when they were asleep and snuggled. My new mommy rolled over at one point during the night and felt something furry by her leg. She, being sleepy, forgot for a minute that I was in the house, and was very startled. She woke my new daddy up, and he said, "It's the CAT, Erin, go back to sleep." She laughed, then went to sleep again.

I had some chicken last night. I thought at first it might be a trap, so when they put it on the floor for me I circled it, suspicious of it. Then I sat down and ate the pieces. It was yummy, but I'm still keeping my distance from them during the daytime. My new mommy put some fries by the bed this morning for me, then went and sat on the couch to watch. I came out enough so she could see my little eyes, then swiped the fries with my paw. I wasn't taking any chances, so they went under the bed with me to eat.

No cat food for me yet, and no deposits in the litter box. Mommy called Foster Mommy to ask her about that, but it's probably just because I'm a bit stressed from the move and my new surroundings. So Mommy isn't as worried about that now. Besides, Foster Mommy reminded her that I did eat the chicken and fries, just not my cat food.

There's a creature here! It's a gerbil named Truffles, and it's in a plastic box on the table above my litter box. I stood up on my hind legs and put my front paws on the table to look at it. It was doing something, so I watched it very closely. Each time it twitched, I jumped!

Fundraising Update

We have a donation! $11 was donated to the CAT on our fundraising website. That's enough to pay for testing one cat for FIV/FELV. If you would like to donate, please see the widget on our sidebar. You can click "menu" to find out more about Cat Adoption Team (CAT), or click the whole thing (or the donate button) to see our fundraising page, which has more information as well.

We will post updates every Friday to let you know how much "Team Tabby" is raising.

Thank you!

Feral Friday by the Trailer Kitties

Food Bowl Rollcall:

Shadow, SpongeBob, Outdoor Fluffy Buddy (hiding under the trailer and hissing at the man when he came out to see if he was ok), Little Bit, Boo-Boo Kitty, Orange-head kitty, black big-head tom kitty, orange kitty from down the street.

Little Bit's been in heat. No sign of Precious, so we don't know for sure if she's pregnant. Outdoor Fluffy Buddy won't let us come close or see if he's eating, probably because of being traumatized by the indoor cat fight the other week. Orange-head kitty and the black tom kitty let the lady pet them and orange-head kitty let her pick him up to move him to a spot where he could eat in peace. (They were fighting over Little Bit, but declared a truce for eating, with a bit of growling and human intervention.)

The lady in the green house wishes that she could do t-n-r on everyone, but they all belong to other people except for Outdoor Fluffy Buddy, who is feral and they were trying to get him trapped before all the excitement inside.

Foodie Friday: Easy dog treats

For those of you who don't trust yourselves to cook, this is a good dog treat recipe for you. There's no measuring, no stoves or ovens, and only two or three ingredients. If your dog is allergic to corn, substitute another kind of flake cereal. If your dog is allergic to peanut butter, substitute almond butter or another kind.

Frozen Peanut Butter Treats
  1. Cover a small cookie sheet with waxed paper
  2. Put some peanut butter in a pile on the cookie sheet
  3. Add a handful or two of cornflakes and mix together
  4. Add some honey if you want
  5. Add more cornflakes or peanut butter until it sticks together into a glob
  6. Separate the glob into bite-sized pieces
  7. Freeze for at least 2 hours
  8. Take off a couple pieces at a time for treats for your dog

An honest award

We received this award from Elin.

When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows who he or she is.Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including ones who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself, as well as an Honest Photo...Then, pass it on!

10 honest things about us:

  1. We love people food! That's why we make our purrents give it to us sometimes when they're eating, and created Chef Skylar's Open Restaurant to share people food recipes for cats (and dogs) and have fun.
  2. We sleep 80% of the day. Well, we're cats; what do you expect us to do?
  3. We play the other 20%. Well, most of it, anyway. Got to have time out for eating and other stuff.
  4. We like harnesses. Yes, we really do! This article Mommy wrote tells you why.
  5. Starla's skittish around people.
  6. Carbon's an evil genius/investigator who jammed up the automatic litter box in only 10 minutes after it arrived at the house!
  7. Skylar snoopervises the food, people's and cats'.
  8. Rori and Skylar watch for the ferals and tell our humans when they're on the porch.
  9. Tabby screams loudly for no particular reason.
  10. We ignore the constant barking of the two woofies next door. Doesn't bother us!
For the honest photo, see our post for the Photo Hunt Friday this week!

I'm in my new home

Smokey writes (via telephone):

My new mom and dad came and got me, and trapped me in the cat carrier. In the car, my new mom opened the carrier a little and petted me to try to calm me down, because I was holding my whole body rigid.

Once I got to my new home, they opened the carrier right by my new litter box. I explored all over the house, except the little human's room, then hid under the bed. I'll explore later, but right now I know I'm safe under here.

My new mom called Foster Mommy and told her all of this so she could update everyone.

Adoption Day!

Smokey writes:

Today I'm going to my new home! I don't really know what that means, but Foster Mommy and Foster Daddy are happy-sad about it, so I guess it's a really good thing. I'll get to bring one toy with me: a wand with a big fleece string on it, and it chirps like a bird when it gets waved around. It's my favorite toy in the whole house, so they said I could take it with me. My new purrents, Erin (Skylar's other mommy) and her boyfriend Brian, are coming to get me after 5:30 pm.

Karen writes:

Smokey's Catster page be transferred over to Erin and will continue to be updated by her.

Thursday Thirteen: 13 things connected with fibromyalgia

As Mommy's realizing that she has to change her life to accommodate things she thought would just go away (but now she knows are part of her fibromyalgia), she has 13 things that affect us as well. Well, sometimes not us in particular, but the household.

  1. The radio. Daddy likes the radio on or the tv on when he's got other noise as well, like playing a computer game on the laptop or watching another tv show online. Mommy's sensitive to noise, so the volume has to go down a bit.
  2. Music for sleeping. Sometimes, Mommy needs to put on cd's to help her sleep. Instrumental music and classical stuff, jazz sometimes. We like to be in the bedroom while the music plays, because it calms us down as well!
  3. Sleep times. Mommy now takes a nap after she gets up. This makes sense to us, because cats need a lot of naps during the day too. We know when it's her nap time and when it's her regular sleep time, and we make sure she is surrounded by purrs. Tabby is by her pillow, Skylar is by her side or her feet, and sometimes others of us are in the room as well. We send out delegates to be with Daddy when he sleeps, too, because he sleeps better with purrs as well. Starla's his designated sleep buddy at the moment, and Skylar goes out there when he's sure Mommy's resting well.
  4. Alarms. Mommy sometimes turns her alarm off and then falls back asleep, forgetting she's turned the alarm off. This has happened for two days with her awake alarms for medication and for Skylar's medication. Rori and Tabby make sure she's up by coming purring up to her for pets. She wakes up to pet them, then realizes that it's time to get up.
  5. Walking around the house. Mommy is having a little balance trouble because of her new medication (Lyrica), so we make sure to observe very closely. Sometimes she says we're too close, but we're only trying to be there if she falls so she lands on something soft.
  6. Temperature. Mommy and Daddy were playing a game with the heat before she realized that was part of the fibro, so the game continues. All the heat pours into the bedroom, so that's good for Mommy. Daddy takes naps on the couch, and he only sleeps in the bedroom when his back isn't bugging him as much (or when they have "private" time). Sometimes it gets too warm in the bedroom for us, so we come out to the main part of the house.
  7. Not working. Mommy doesn't work right now except for her art business, so she's home all the time with us. That's wonderful! Daddy still goes to work, and we hate to see him leave! We all wish he could stay home as well, but someone's got to earn money for our food and litter. ;)
  8. Food. Speaking of food, Mommy is supposed to eat healthy. That means more yummy things for us to sample. Rori likes soy yogurt; Smokey will eat anything with potatoes, including jo-jos; Tabby likes to lick up the soymilk from the cereal bowl; Skylar snoopervises the cooking like any good chef would.
  9. Brain-fog. Mommy has brain-fog, also knows as fibro-fog, which means that sometimes she doesn't remember words or loses track of her thoughts. For us, that means sometimes we have to remind her to scoop our litter box twice daily. It's not a big deal for her to forget things sometimes, so we gently remind her of what needs to be done for us and she writes notes to herself about other things.
  10. Chores. Daddy does a lot of the chores, because it hurts Mommy to do some of them. He loads the dishwasher and takes the big loads of laundry downstairs. Then Mommy unloads the dishwasher when it's done and does the laundry, putting the small loads in the washer and dryer from the piles Daddy brought down. Daddy uses a lot of towels because he works outside for his job, so he takes a couple showers a day. It all adds up. When it's downstairs, though, then it's easy for Mommy to put in the washer.
  11. Love and purrs. Sometimes, Mommy and Daddy get overwhelmed with all the changes and everything, so we make sure to give them extra attention. We're very good at that!
  12. Humor. We make sure to play and do things to make Mommy and Daddy laugh every day. They also joke around a lot more now.
  13. Hope. Seeing us figuring out new things and interacting with each other offers Mommy hope that the next day will be better. She's actually doing really well, but it's a big change.

More Photos from the Fashion Show

Mommy got an e-mail today from DoveLewis that said some of the professional photographer pictures were up! They are at Beth Caldwell's Shutterfly page. We are in some of them. She got a couple shots of me on the runway, being petted by an audience member! Mommy's definitely going to order a couple photos for my scrapbook. :)

Nearly-Wordless Wednesday: Grandma & Grandpa's birthdays

Mommy's grandma turned 88 yesterday, and her grandpa turns 83 next week. Here they are with their yummy chocolate cake with mint whipped cream frosting.

Grandma's big present was a book her cousin helped research, about the schools of Minnehaha County, South Dakota, where she grew up. A lot of the relatives are in the book!

Tabby's Fashion Show Debut!

Tabby says:

I'm so excited that I couldn't wait to tell everyone about my fashion show debut! Mommy brought her digital camera, so we were able to get pictures of the setting-up and some video of my part of the show!

We got there about 4:30 pm, even though we didn't need to be there until 5:30. Mommy wanted me to get accustomed to the environment before a lot of the dogs got there. It took me about 45 minutes to go from my scared spot on the couch to the floor and exploring a little. At first, I was stress-purring really hard and shaking. Mommy just let me be for a while, to let me get used to the situation on my own. Once I calmed down a bit, with her petting me, she put me down on the floor to see what I would do. I sniffed, watched one of the dogs who was there already, then jumped back up on the couch to watch as everyone started filing in.

This is the first dog to arrive, beside Lexi. Lexi is the co-owner of LexiDog, along with her human. They were helping everyone. The dog in the picture is Tucker. He really didn't seem interested in me, other than to sniff the air. In the picture, you can see all of our outfits lined up on hangers on the fence. Each one had the model's name on it, so we could easily tell whose was whose.
This is Gracie the goat. She's a therapy animal with the DoveLewis Animal-Assisted Therapy & Education program. She was the surprise guest model this year.

Eowyn came in wearing a tutu! It wasn't her costume, but she loves dressing up so much that she came in an outfit.

Here is a closeup of my shirt from bentley B. It was really comfortable, and perfect for the "rocker chick" style they were going for!

I just chilled in the middle of the "mini dog park" in my shirt, and let everyone love on me. All the handlers came to see me and pet me, and the dogs came over to sniff me and lick me. I got lots and lots of doggie kisses!

Koda really liked me. I was the first cat he's ever seen! He sniffed me, sniffed some more, drooled a bit on me, then licked me, then sniffed some more, and then pawed me gently to see if I would play with him! Then he rolled over on his back, showing me he definitely wanted to play! I was his favorite friend there!

Oliver also thought I was a good friend. He's a year and a half, and all puppy! He followed me around, and constantly wanted to sniff in my face and see what I was doing!

Next, we met the other cat team: Karen and George. So it was Karen & Tabby meeting Karen & George! We all thought that was hilarious! George spent most of his time there in a carrier, but he walked on his leash when it was his turn on the runway. First we looked at each other, sizing each other up.
Then we touched noses! Immediately after touching noses, we both hissed, causing our mommies to laugh. We were fine around the dogs, but didn't want to share the spotlight with another of our own species!

We don't remember the name of this little pup, but I hung out with her for a while. She wore two outfits in the show. Mommy liked this one, so she took a couple pictures of it.

Showtime! There I am, being held by veterinarian Dr. Curtis Brandt. He and I are both in our rockstar outfits. Check out his pink-striped hair! We're just going up onto the stage here. We were the third pair to go onstage.

Mommy went upstairs to watch my part of the show. Here's a shot of the stage, right before they turned on the spotlights.

She got some video of my part, so we put that at the end of this post. When she came back downstairs, the goat was getting dressed!

There's the other cat, George, on the tv screen. They had a live feed set up, so we could watch the rest of the show from downstairs.

There were more models than that, but we couldn't get pictures of them all. There was also an intermission with an auction. It was all so fun, but I was glad when Mommy came back downstairs. Dr. Curtis had handed me to one of the volunteers, and I hugged her around the neck then lay in her arms until Mommy came for me. I hugged Mommy for a while, then sat behind her in the chair while she watched the rest of the show.

Here's the video of my part in the fashion show. The announcers are from Fox 12 Oregon.

Foodie Friday: Kitty Treats (Cookies)

Tabby's fundraising for Cat Adoption Team

It's that time of year again! "Team Tabby" is once again raising money to support Cat Adoption Team (CAT). This year, instead of joining in the "Pets in the Pearl" fundraiser, they have their own: a Care-A-Thon. It's their 11th year as an organization, so we're challenging cats (and dogs) and their people to donate in 11s. Can you donate:

Tummy (update) Tuesday

Smokey says:

I'm back to playing now. My tummy fur is still gone, but that's all right because Foster Mommy rubs my tummy more and makes it warm. I don't jump as high, but I've found steps to jump on to get to my favorite places. I am back to sleeping in my normal spot, and playing chase with Rori. I snuggle with Foster Mommy at night.

I'm going to my new home on the 18th of this month. My new mommy got my water and food bowls and my litter box already, and is very excited to have me come live there.

Starla says:

I've figured out I am allowed on the back of the couch. I like to snuggle with Daddy when he is sleeping, although sometimes he forgets I'm there when he rolls over. I remind him by waking up and getting down, and then he calls me back to snuggle some more. Skylar likes me and snuggles on the couch at the same time I do. Rori doesn't like me so much, but I like her. She hisses at me. Carbon scares me. I never know whether he's going to just watch me or if he's going to come jumping at me wanting to play. Tabby is a sweetheart and licks my ears. She comes to check on me if I get scared by something.

I want my food nnnnnNNNNOOOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!

Anyone who's ever heard a Siamese yowl knows what it sounds like around our house today. It's definitely a Mancat Monday!

Skylar writes:

I'm feeling so much better now that Starla's around. I just was lonely and depressed, and then she came to be my companion. I love my new friend! I let her snuggle with me and be right by me when I'm sitting with Dad. I go check on her and touch noses with her sometimes. I watch her and purr.

I've perked up quite a bit. My whole attitude's back to normal! I'm eating fine, drinking water occasionally (still working on that one), and am starting to assert myself again.

Yesterday, I woke Mom up with a Siamese yowl, demanding part of Dad's hotdog that he bought on the way home from work. I got some of it (of course) and chomped it right down, then got another piece. Starla got a piece as well, and the others got some bread (because they don't eat the hotdog part).

Today, Mom had bologna, and I demanded my fair share. She says it wasn't really bologna, just something that is made from tofu that seems like meat, but it tasted real! Smelled real, too, that's why I demanded it!

Tabby's Fitting for the Fashion Show

My meeting and fitting went so well! When we first got to DoveLewis, we rode the elevator, which I don't really like but I put up with. Then, we stepped out of the elevator and saw Heather and Andy. Heather was watering plants, and said hi to us. Andy, a big black lab, came over to Mommy for pets, then went to sniff me in my stroller.

A few more people walked by when we were waiting, and I greeted them by looking at them and walking over to be petted. I also sat in the chair with Mommy, then got down and rolled over on the carpet for tummy rubs. I wanted to follow one lady into a conference room, but she wouldn't let me.

When the lady came to get us, I hopped down and walked with Mommy on my leash while she pushed the stroller. I walked partway, then wanted to go down the other hallway, so Mommy picked me up and carried me while the lady pushed the stroller.

I was fitted with a size large t-shirt. They used the ones from last summer's "Pets in the Pearl" fundraiser to do the sizes, but that's not what I'll really be wearing. When Mommy put the shirt on me, she could tell I loved the fit and fabric! I walked around the table a bit, then rolled over for tummy rubs. Everyone agreed I was being a little ham, loving all the attention (and the two cameras) focused on ME!

Then, I met the man who's going to walk with me down the runway. He learned how I like being held, and we practiced walking and showing off my outfit. He also spent some time petting me and talking with me, so that we could get comfortable working with each other.

My shirt for the fashion show will be something related to being a "rockstar chick". Dr. Brandt will be dressed in something "urban edgy New York rocker" style. Dr. Brandt's outfit will be from a shop called "Urban Edge".

My outfit will be from "bentley B".

The next thing...rehearsal and then the main event! The rehearsal will take place the day of, at 5:30 pm. The actual show is at 7:00 pm but doors open at 6:30.

I'm soooooo excited! Mommy gets a backstage pass, so she'll be there with me for everything except the actual runway walk. She's super-excited as well!
